Soil and Topography:  Planted on an east-facing ridge. Non-irrigated and farmed sustainably.  LIVE and Salmon Safe certification achieved in 2008.  Peavine silty clay loam (PcE) with 20% to 30% slopes in the lower part of Block 1 and the upper part of Block 13.  Moderately shallow Peavine silty clay loam (PeD) with 7% to 20% slopes in the upper part of Block 1, Block 2, Block 3, Block 7, the upper part of Block 8, the upper part of Block 10, and the upper part of Block 11.  Moderately shallow WillaKenzie silty clay loam (WkD) with 7% to 20% slopes in Block 4, Block 5, the upper part of Block 6, the lower part of Block 8, the upper part of Block 9, the lower part of Block 10 and 11, and Block 12.  Hazelair silty clay loam (HcD) with 7% to 20% slope in the lower part of Block 6, 9, and 13.

Flavor Profile: The 30 acre Merriman Vineyard is owned and meticulously farmed by Mike Merriman. This east-facing hillside is comprised of ancient ocean bottom soils with excellent drainage that produces Pinot Noir with distinctive coffee notes, rich plum flavors and complex spices.
