VINEYARD NOTES
Our favorite area for this aromatic red wine is in the slopes of the Ahtanum Ridge and western Rattlesnake Hills in the Yakima Valley. There is no question that this blend of Slide Mountain Vineyard, Red Willow Vineyard and the Pearl Block of our own Union Gap Estate Vineyard is a winner and will become a new favorite. Packed with concentration and elegance, it has more to offer than prior vintages and will please lovers of this great grape and Bordeaux as well.

TASTING NOTES
Peppery aromas of jalapeno and a dark fruit medley of black currant, plum and violet lead to a structured flavor profile of green olive, cured meat, tobacco, coffee and wildflowers. Drink now through 2025+.

VINIFICATION
Created from a 10 barrel blend with a final production of approximately 240 cases.  Aged in 50% new oak (100% French) for around 18 months.  The blend is 100% Yakima Valley AVA: 53% Slide Mountain Vineyard, 26% Union Gap Vineyard, and 21% Red Willow Vineyard. Alcohol: 13%

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Also gorgeous, and my favorite in the lineup, the 2011 Cabernet Franc Pearl is 100% Cabernet Franc that spent 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels. With only 233 cases made, there’s not much to go around, but it gives up thrilling notes of black raspberry, spice, crushed flowers and tobacco that flow to a medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure, elegant and seamless profile on the palate. It will evolve gracefully for 10 to 15 years. I was blown away by these new releases from Owen Roe. Across the board, they showed beautiful purity and elegance that was balanced by solid mid-palate depth and concentration. They’re not cheap, but they certainly deliver on the quality-front.
