VINEYARD NOTES

This new Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of some of our favorite vineyards in the Yakima Valley and the most sought after fruit in Washington state. Given the quality of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in 2011, we decided to make a small bottling from 4 unique sites to express the synergy of different soil types, climate and overall terroir.

TASTING NOTES

The deep hue is elegant in the glass and exudes dark fruit and earthy aromatics such as brambleberry, burnt earth, currant, licorice and eucalyptus. The palate is round and full with lengthy tannins and has flavors of chocolate raspberry truffles, blackberry, anise and black pepper.

VINIFICATION

Created from a 16 barrel selection, this Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Red Willow, DuBrul, Union Gap and Elerding Vineyards. 680 cases produced.

Wine Profile
Ratings
EXCELLENT - Great Northwest Wine Coming all from the DuBrul Vineyard, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses classic black currants, plum, smoke and hints of chocolate, as well as medium to full-bodied richness, solid mid-palate depth and fine tannin that emerge on the finish. Aged 20 months in 40% new French oak, it possesses beautiful richness as well as an overriding sense of elegance. It too will evolve gracefully for 15 years or more. I was blown away by these new releases from Owen Roe. Across the board, they showed beautiful purity and elegance that was balanced by solid mid-palate depth and concentration. They’re not cheap, but they certainly deliver on the quality-front. Rating: 92 -Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate
