Traditionally, we blend all Sojourner Vineyard barrels to create one final vineyard blend. In 2014, we tasted through each barrel and it became clear that we needed to showcase a few of the most dynamic barrels in the cellar. It is rare for us to craft clonal designate Pinot Noir, as we feel the expression of the vineyard is generally found in a blend of several clones. Of course, there is always an exception to the rule and in 2014, the Sojourner Vineyard yielded very distinct wines from the different clones planted there; all incredibly unique and equally delightful.

This six-barrel blend of Pommard clone Pinot Noir lends rich color and aromas of cinnamon spice and blackberry fruit. Flavors of fire-roasted filberts, black licorice and black cherry are nicely layered with gripping acidity on the mid-palate. Subtle oak notes dance through the long finish, promising cellaring potential for another 8+ years.

Aged 10 months in 35% new French oak barrels. 13% Alcohol.
